As the great Czech ACE MOH_Petec unfastened his flying suit, he turned and gazed reflectively back at his Spitfire VIII. His eyes moistened as they caressed her smooth sleek fuselage. How grateful he was for the old birds grace and agility. Many times #88 had brought him home while peppered with holes, sputtering oil and coughing smoke.
Too often his MOH comrades had seen salvation in the form of the Petec Spitfire VIII flashing past their wing with Hispanos blazing. Many an overzealous ACE had fallen victim to these same guns. Petec knew full well that his days might be numbered, and he shuddered at the thought. His angst was not because he feared his own demise, but because he knew his MOH comrades would be in the air without the attentive #88 watching over them.
