As the checkertailed Spitfires prepared to dive into the attack, MOH_WEG's voice called out a warning; “Watch out…RAW...109's above!!!!!! MOH_RAW looked up swiftly and saw the outline of 2 enemy Me-109's flying above and behind the formation of low flying Do-217's. MOH_RAW caught his breath in astonishment as he realized the Me-109 pilots were unaware of the MOH presence.
Refocused on the task at hand, MOH_RAW rolled his machine over on it’s back, pulled the stick hard into his stomach and aileron turned vertically downwards onto the tail of a nearby Do-217. Sighting quickly, he fired a long burst with the 20mm Hispanos of his Spitfire. A large piece sheared off the enemy aircraft but the tough bird did not go down.
Pulling out of his dive, MOH_RAW looked about for another target to attack. Suddenly, he spotted one of the Me-109’s reversing in the distance and leveling out of a dive. MOH_RAW pressed his attack "head to head". As they merged, both pilots fired. Tracer ripped past RAW’s aircraft but the efforts of the "Gerry" pilot were in vain. MOH_RAW watched as his 20mm cannons delivered multiple impacts upon the Me-109 and watched in amazement as it disintegrated in front of him. MOH_RAW raced through the debris as a “rush” enveloped him. "Thank God" exclaimed MOH_RAW, "that was the last of my ammo"!
Bent upon revenge, his victim’s wingman latched onto RAW’s six. Red streaks of 8mm tracer ripped past the cockpit of his Spitfire. Desperate to evade, MOH_RAW threw his machine into a terrific climbing spiral so tight he could feel himself blacking out. The maneuver worked as he hauled himself around and out of the lethal zone of fire.
As MOH_RAW emerged from this delivering move, he spotted an emerging grey shape out of the corner of his eye which filled him with hope….it was MOH_WEG!!!!! The Me-109 had again set his sights on RAW and had renewed the chase. Knowing he would not last long without ammunition, MOH_RAW cast fearful glances over his shoulder and prayed the great MOH_WEG would arrive in time. Muffled gunfire and a bright flash told MOH_RAW the fight was done.
Courageous and deadly, MOH_RAW is a true “Experten” in the Spitfire and one of the great pilots of MOH.
